Scones

Ingredients:

2 Cups flour

3 tsp Baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

2 Tsp sugar

2 Tsp butter

1 Egg

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup butter milk or cottage cheese

Method

Mix together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a bowl.

Rub butter into dry ingredients with fingers.

Beat egg and milk.

Make well in middle of dry ingredients.

Pour milk and egg mixture into dry ingredients and butter milk and mix together, to form a soft mixture.

Heat oven to 180 degrees.

Spray and cook scones tray and spoon mixture into each cup.

Beat an egg and brush the tops of scones.

Place tray into oven and bake for 20 minutes or until tops of scones are a golden brown.

Remove from oven and allow scones to cool slightly before removing them from oven and placing onto a cooling stand.

Serve with butter, grated cheese, jam and cream if you fancy.
